When a serious injury turns a family’s life upside down, they usually need two things: someone who knows the law inside and out, and someone who cares what happens to them. For more than 50 years, Oklahoma injury lawyer Patrick Carr has worked to be both.
Pat is a founding partner of Carr & Carr Personal Injury Attorneys. He has represented injured clients in catastrophic injury, defective product, insurance bad faith, and vehicle collision cases. He has secured multi-million dollar recoveries for families facing serious injury and wrongful death, both in Oklahoma and in courts across the country.
A Firm Built by Father and Son
Pat and his father, Eugene, started Carr & Carr, Attorneys at Law in 1973. The two practiced side by side until Eugene passed away in 1992. Pat kept the firm going as a sole proprietorship for years after that. In 2010, his son Michael joined the firm and became a partner.
That kind of family continuity is rare in any business, and it shows in how the firm treats people. Clients at Carr & Carr aren’t case numbers. They’re neighbors, and the firm has built its name on treating them that way.
Oklahoma Roots Run Deep
Pat was born and raised in Oklahoma. He graduated from high school in Tulsa and then attended the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated with Special Distinction. He stayed at OU for law school and earned his law degree from the University of Oklahoma School of Law.
Today he is admitted to practice in Oklahoma and Arkansas, in each of the United States District Courts in Oklahoma, in the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and in the Supreme Court of the United States.
Service Beyond the Courtroom
Pat’s commitment to service goes beyond practicing law. He served in the Oklahoma Army National Guard as an enlisted man, an infantry platoon leader, and a station commander. He also served as an officer in a Civil Affairs unit of the United States Army Reserves.
That background in leadership and discipline carries into his legal work. When a client is counting on him, he shows up prepared.
A Respected Voice in Oklahoma Law
Pat’s peers have trusted him with some important roles. He served as a Judge on the Oklahoma Temporary Court of Appeals and as a member of the Rules of Professional Conduct Committee of the Oklahoma Bar Association. He also sat on the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Trial Lawyers Association, served as its Vice-President in 2001, and became its President in 2002.
He is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, the Arkansas Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, the Oklahoma Association for Justice, the American Bar Association, and other legal groups. Anyone who wants a closer look at his credentials can find them on his Justia lawyer profile.
Pat has also spent a lot of time sharing what he knows. He has written numerous articles on tort law and has lectured and taught for both the Oklahoma Trial Lawyers Association and the Oklahoma Bar Association. He has been involved in a number of published legal opinions, so his work has shaped the law as well as his clients’ outcomes.
The Cases That Matter Most
Over his career, Pat has handled a wide range of cases. He has obtained multi-million dollar settlements in cases involving defective products, railroad grade crossings, insurance bad faith, and vehicle collisions.
The people behind those cases are what drive him. He has represented families who lost loved ones, along with clients who suffered serious brain injuries, paralyzing spinal cord injuries, post-traumatic stress, and other traumatic injuries. These cases can change everything for a family, and Pat understands that a fair recovery can mean the difference between getting by and getting back on solid ground.
With Oklahoma City and Midtown Tulsa personal injury offices, Carr & Carr has represented clients in numerous states across the nation. Whether someone was hurt in a car crash on I-44 or injured by a dangerous product, the firm has the experience to take the case on.
Life Outside the Office
Pat and his wife married in 1975. They have three adult sons and five grandchildren, and family remains at the center of his life.
He has always been active. In school, he played on the tennis team and ran cross country. These days he runs long distances and has completed marathons in Oklahoma, California, and Texas. He also plays the violin, reads biographies and history, and studies how nutrition and diet affect health and longevity. He’s curious about a lot of things, and that curiosity helps when he digs into a complicated case.
Why It Matters
Picking a lawyer after a serious injury is a big decision. Pat Carr brings decades of courtroom experience, a record of significant recoveries, and deep Oklahoma roots to every case. For injured Oklahomans and their families, that combination counts for a lot.
